Job Description

A growing construction company based in Boynton Beach, Florida, are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist who is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Position Summary

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing weekly payroll for both field and office employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. This role requires experience with construction payroll, including certified payroll, and the ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking employees.

Key Responsibilities

Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including job costing allocations
Ensure accurate timekeeping, including review and verification of timesheets from job sites
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
Handle garnishments, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings
Prepare and manage certified payroll reports (Davis-Bacon prevailing wage experience preferred)
Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data accuracy in payroll systems
Respond to employee payroll inquiries in both English and Spanish
Coordinate with HR and accounting teams regarding new hires, terminations, and benefits updates
Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 preparation
Support audits and ensure compliance with company policies and construction industry regulations

Qualifications

3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in the construction industry
Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements strongly preferred
Fluent in Spanish and English (required)
Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with multi-state payroll
Familiarity with union payroll (if applicable)
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
